Fire Surround and Hearths

The finishing touches such as fire surrounds are as important as the fireplace installation itself, and we can help with those too.

fire surroundChoosing the right material for your hearth and fire surrounds is often more than just a style choice.  Porous materials such as sandstone and marble require much more aftercare to keep them up to scratch, than granite or slate. To keep fire surrounds in tip-top condition we offer a aftercare kit which treats the stone to prevent it from getting any stain or water damage – a bit like Scotch-guarding your sofa!

The size and thickness of your hearth can vary depending on the other features already in your home, and in addition, if you have an original hearth stone in place, we would discuss the best way to either cover it or work it into your finished decor.

Marble, granite or slate are classic choices for hearths.  We carefully measure and cut the material to fit the unique contours of your fireplace, ensuring maximum impact to the finished design.

The fire surround and mantel piece is part of the fireplace installation, and we can help you with a choice of marble, timber or stone  depending on your style and decor choices.  We also offer heavy timber mantlepieces which we can embed into the fire opening, offering a cottage feel with a contemporary touch.fire surround

Some of your fireplaces come with a choice of fire surround, others are chosen as separate component parts – we would be happy to discuss the options with you before embarking on your fireplace installation.
